Tropical climate zone: an interactive geography lesson

··

I built this lesson to help a student prepare a geography presentation on the tropical climate zone (advanced secondary-school level). There are 13 chapters that you move through with the arrow keys, Space or the buttons, and along the way you get:

  • a 3D globe with the equator and the tropics;
  • climate charts for real weather stations;
  • small simulations, for example of the monsoon;
  • numbers with footnotes that point to a checked list of sources.

Schematic of the lesson: 13 chapters built from four kinds of content

It’s a static page that uses three.js for the globe and D3 for the charts, and the text is in Polish.

Open it full screen → Keys: → or Space next step, ← back, M chapter list, F full screen.
