Falcon, the company that makes the Falcon Play automation system, is building a rundown for live TV that runs in the browser. A rundown is the running order of a show, and many small newsrooms keep theirs in a spreadsheet or in an older system such as iNews or ENPS. In Falcon’s version every story shows the time used and the time left, directors and camera operators get views of their own, presenters can open cuecards from a link on a tablet, and the prompter is part of the package.

The page claims a test on Dancing with the Stars in Denmark, but near the bottom it also says “coming soon”.

TL;DR

  • Browser rundown system for streamers, broadcasters, newsrooms, live TV
  • Falcon says it replaces spreadsheets, iNews, ENPS
  • Items: color-coded blocks (INPUT, VIDEO, GRAPHIC, SOUND, PROPS, INSTRUCTION), F-key editing
  • Notes: sticky boxes anchored to tags; comments and chat per project, rundown or story
  • Layouts per role, plus “Now & Next”
  • Cuecards: shared by link to tablets and phones, no login
  • Export: PDF (A4 or A5, live preview), prompter as RTF, rundown to MOS
  • Assets: manual or from Falcon Play; HTML5 graphics (OGraf)
  • “Tested and approved”: one production, Dancing with the Stars in Denmark
  • No prices; Falcon Rundown “coming soon”
